What is a Tricky Tray Auction?

A Tricky Tray Auction is a fun and exciting evening spent with friends and family, designed after a traditional Chinese Auction, where you have the opportunity to bid on more than 250 gift baskets and other prizes.

Why do we have a Tricky Tray at Sacred Heart?

The Tricky Tray is the single largest school fundraiser sponsored annually by the Home School Association. Funds raised at the Tricky Tray are used to purchase materials needed to provide our students with a high-quality education. Over the past several years the Tricky Tray has raised more than $69,000 for our school. All money raised directly benefits the students. Profits from recent Tricky Trays have been used to upgrade the Math, Social Studies, and Science programs as well as to upgrade classroom technology.

May I donate to the auction?

Yes! Every donation is welcomed and appreciated. We strongly encourage each family to become involved in this event by, at minimum, donating to the classroom collections. Funds collected in each classroom go toward the compilation of theme baskets for the auction. Information about classroom collections will be sent home in the February 17th Weekly Communicator. Donations of new (unused) gift items, baskets, and packaging materials are also greatly appreciated. Donations can be dropped off at the school during school hours, or arrangements can be made for pickup if necessary. Any person or business that makes a donation to the Tricky Tray will be recognized in our program which is distributed to all event attendees.

May I volunteer for Tricky Tray?

Yes! It takes an extraordinary number of volunteers to put together a successful auction. Hours spent volunteering for the Tricky Tray count toward your family service obligation for the year. All are encouraged to help with the following activities: solicitation, decorating, preparation of ticket packages, event setup, and working the night of the event. All Tricky Tray volunteer opportunities will be posted on the school website. Please be sure to check the site frequently for new opportunities.

How do I purchase tickets for the Tricky Tray?

We encourage all school families to purchase tickets to our auction. Information about ticket sales will be posted on the school website. Please be sure to check the site frequently for this information and be on the lookout for our early bird special!
