Homework Policy

Homework

The school policy is to assign homework, either written or study, as an introduction to/preparation for or follow-up of the work covered in class. This home study provides a reinforcement/enrichment of material being taught. A child will be assigned an appropriate amount of homework. Individual differences are taken into consideration.

Parents are expected to schedule a homework period, provide a special place for their child or children to complete homework neatly and legibly. Parents are not expected to do their children's homework. Children should do their own work and present it to their parents for approval. Advice and direction are sometimes needed. However, the child develops self-confidence and a sense of responsibility if given the opportunity to work independently.

Note that each teacher will use his/her own discretion for consequences of missing/incomplete homework assignments.
