Announcements

Announcements of delayed openings and school closings due to inclement weather will be made via the Honeywell Instant Alert System. Information will also be posted on the school’s website, and on the daily bulletin section of Power School.

Internet & Radio

While the local radio stations cannot guarantee that our school closing will be announced over the air, you can also check for school closing information on their respective web sites.

Please do not call the school, as no one will be there to answer the phone if there is a closing or delayed opening. Listen to the radio or television for information.

Delayed Opening

Announcements of delayed openings due to inclement weather will be made via the Honeywell Instant Alert System. Information will also be posted on the school’s website, and on the daily bulletin section of Power School.

If there is a delayed opening – i.e. 1 hour – children should report to their bus stops 1 hour later – not at a set time for everyone.

Emergency Closing

It is the policy of our school to follow South Plainfield Public School closings. If South Plainfield Public Schools are closed, then Sacred Heart School is also closed. Plainfield residents are advised of no buses if Plainfield Public Schools are closed. We also have the option to close if South Plainfield remains open. That will be an administrative decision.

We will utilize the Honeywell Instant Alert system to notify parents in the event of an Early Dismissal.
