Announcements

Announcements of delayed openings and school closings due to inclement weather will be made on the following stations:

  • Radio: WCTC  - 1450 AM, MAGIC - 98.3 FM, NJ - 101.5 FM

  • Television: News 12 New Jersey

    • Comcast - Channel 62

    • CableVision - Channel 12

    • Time Warner - Channel 12

    • Service Electric - Channel 12

    • WABC Channel 7

  • Internet:

Please do not call the school, as no one will be there to answer the phone if there is a closing or delayed opening. Listen to the radio or television for information.

Delayed Opening

In the event of a delayed opening, classes will begin at 9:30 am. Students in South Plainfield and Plainfield who are transported by bus should be at their bus stop by 9:00 am.

Emergency Closing

It is the policy of our school to follow South Plainfield Public School closings. If South Plainfield Public Schools are closed, then Sacred Heart School is also closed. Plainfield residents are advised of no buses if Plainfield Public Schools are closed. We also have the option to close if South Plainfield remains open. That will be an administrative decision.

Early Dismissal

Homeroom parents will notify school parents of early dismissal due to inclement weather or emergency only when school is in session. They will not call for closings early in the morning.
