Student Dress Code

Boys Uniform

Uniforms supplied by Flynn & O'Hara Uniform Company are worn by Sacred Heart students in kindergarten through eighth grade.

  • Summer Uniform: September - October 15 and April 15 - June
    Khaki Pants
    Short Sleeve Polo Shirt - white or maroon, embroidered with school logo
    Dress Shoes - black or brown with flat heels

  • Winter Uniform: October 15 - April 15
    Khaki Pants
    Long Sleeve Polo Shirt - white or maroon, embroidered with school logo
    Sweater - maroon school vest or pullover (must be school sweater)
    Dress Shoes - black or brown with flat heels

All pants are to be properly belted at all times and shirts are to be fully tucked into pants. No sweatshirts or jackets, including the school fleece jacket, may be worn in the classroom.

Girls Uniform

Uniforms supplied by Flynn & O'Hara Uniform Company are worn by Sacred Heart students in kindergarten through eighth grade.

  • Summer Uniform: September - October 15 and April 15 - June
    Khaki Skort (length should be no higher than 2 inches above the knee)
    Short Sleeve Polo Shirt - white or maroon, embroidered with school logo
    Socks - white or maroon plain cuff which come up to the calf
    Dress Shoes - black, brown or burgundy (heels should be 1 inch or lower)

  • Winter Uniform: October 15 - April 15
    Khaki Skort (length should be no higher than 2 inches above the knee)
    Long Sleeve Polo Shirt - white or maroon, embroidered with school logo
    Socks or Tights - maroon winter-weight knee high socks
    Sweater - maroon school vest, pullover or cardigan (must be school sweater)
    Dress Shoes - black, brown or burgundy (heels should be 1 inch or lower)

All shirts are to be tucked into skorts and not bloused over the waistband. No sweatshirts or jackets, including the school fleece jacket, may be worn in the classroom.

Gym Uniform

Gym uniform consist of the maroon school T-shirt, gray gym shorts, socks and sneakers. All gym uniforms (T-shirt and shorts) are purchased through the school.

Students in grades K - 4 wear their gym uniforms to school on assigned gym days. Students in grades 5 - 8 must bring their gym uniform, including sneakers, to school on assigned gym days. They cannot participate in gym activities if they do not have a gym uniform. They will not be permitted to call a parent at home or at work to bring their uniform to school. Gym clothes left at home or in the car cannot be brought to school on gym days. It is the responsibility of each student to bring his/her gym uniform to school on gym days.

Accessories

The following items are not permitted:

  • Jewelry: hoop earrings, dangling earrings, bracelets, multiple piercings
    Note: The only items of jewelry allowed to be worn are watches, 8th grade school rings, necklaces with religious medals or crosses, small post earrings.

  • Cosmetics: makeup, nail polish, press-on nails, tips, or nails longer than the finger tips

  • Accessories: bandanas, hats

  • Footwear: clogs, boots, shoe boots, open-backed shoes, or sandals of any kind

  • Hair: may not be dyed, radically cut or styled

Tag Days

Periodically, the students will be given the opportunity to enjoy Tag Days for special fund raising. All students participating in Tag Days will come to school dressed appropriately. Shirts with inappropriate sayings, pictures, etc. or anything that could be construed as inappropriate will not be allowed. Students are not permitted to wear tank tops. Girls may not wear spaghetti strap, halter, tight-fitting, short-cropped or low cut tops. Shorts, if worn, must be mid-thigh length or longer and not tight fitting. Violators will be directed to call home for their school uniform if they are inappropriately dressed.

Dress Code Violations

Any student in violation of the dress code, whether in uniform or on Tag Days, will be immediately sent to the principal's office where they will receive a written warning, which is to be signed by the parent and returned to school the following day. Upon receipt of three written warnings, the parents will be called, either at home or at work, and must pick up the student and take the student home. The student will not be allowed to return to school until the dress code is complied with in an appropriate manner.
